Name: Derek Birthday: 5/28/1991 Gender: Male
Interests: I like drumming (obviously), music, theater, singing, fixing things, stuff like that. Oh, by the way, God isn't just one of my interests, which is why I don't have that up here. He is more than an interest. He is my life, my Savior, and my best friend! Expertise: I've been playing drums for the past 3 years, I'm a master at sudoku and the Rubik's Cube, and I'm usually pretty successful when trying to fix things. Occupation: Student

| Okay, I'm shunning Xanga now because of its crappy interface, and switching to Blogger. I'm very impressed with Blogger, and I recommend it if you want to keep blogging. It's like it was made by Apple, and Xanga was made by Microsoft. That type of difference. :) Sorry, Windows users. But anyway, I will keep this blog up just because it has the past several years of my life on here, but I will not be blogging at all over here anymore. My new blog is at fool4drummin.blogspot.com.
Ciao!
Derek
P.S. Oh, my goodness. Xanga just got less intuitive with the new private home page. Boy, am I switching more than ever. | | |

| Okay, people, here's the deal. Whenever I post a note on Facebook, I'm going to also post it on here. Now don't expect 'em too often, but that's gonna be the deal for right now. Why is it that whenever I tell people I'm not going to post for awhile, I suddenly feel the urge to post within a week? Anyway, on to the post.
I found out today the advantages and disadvantages of getting lyrics for my iTunes library off the internet. I'll start off with advantages, but this rant is really about the disadvantages.
Okay, so getting lyrics online is good because you don't have to spend time typing them into the computer. Okay, we got that down? Good.
Alright, disadvantages. Maybe it's just me, but it drives me absolutely CRAZY how there are so many little mistakes in every single set of lyrics to every single song that I've seen! The big thing is when they post lyrics without capitalization, which is another different pet peeve of mine when it comes to the internet, but I'll leave that for another time.
There are also those tiny punctuation errors that at a glance don't look so bad, but when I'm listening to a song on my iPod and I look through the lyrics, they are glaring and absolutely impossible to change until I get back onto my computer. An especially hard thing to do if it's 11 at night and you're supposed to be asleep.
Then there are the slightly changed or slightly omitted wording in lyrics, so that if the wording is changed correctly, it changes the whole mood of the verse, chorus, or song! Y'know, "Thanks for wanting to hang me" vs. "Thanks for wanting to hang out with me". Big difference.
It just drives me crazy how there's no care taken when posting lyrics on the web. I mean, I might as well just type all the lyrics in myself, but I'm lazy, especially when I'm sick like this. I'm probably more picky about this than many people, but I do like everything in my music library pretty perfect. Maybe I should just start my own website for lyrics, and post them CORRECTLY!! Sigh.

| Hey everypeoples. After awhile of thinking it over, I've decided that I can't really keep both my Xanga and my Facebook running well at once. Thus, I am going to stop Xangaing for the time being. I will still read everyone's posts and keep commenting occasionally, but I think I am going to stay mainly on Facebook. I just like it better. I'm not going to shut my site down, as I may use it again in the future, unless Facebook creates a blogging feature or something. Adieu, for the present. | | |
| It amazes me how Gmail can decide that real "hey, you won something" spam is actually spam, and when I actually win something, Gmail lets it through. Amazing. Oh, by the way, I'm uber excited, because I actually won a drawing online at FreeCCM.com! It's a Todd Agnew package thingy, with his Christmas CD, a t-shirt, and other stuff. I never really win anything on these contests! So, yeah, I'm excited. I always sign up for stuff like this and say, "Meh, it's worth a shot. Prolly not gonna win anything, but I might as well." Very cool. | | |
